Day 3, 4/21/18
1,204.2 miles
Somonauk, IL

Today was a push day. We drove 12 hours (passing through Ohio and Indiana) and reached my brother's place in Somonauk, IL sometime around 7PM Central. The van drove and handled well on the highway. We figured we'd get about 16 mpg; on the road, it was more like 15+.

The region is pretty flat, open and cultivated. As we traveled through NY, we saw more and more vineyards. Southwest of Buffalo, we drove through the Cattaraugus Indian Territories, part of the Seneca Nation of Indians, also known as the Six Nations or the Iroquois Confederacy. From I 90, there isn't much to indicate the rich history of the Onondowagah - mostly billboards for casinos.

After a brief visit with Mike and Theresa, it was off to bed. Tomorrow, Mike is going to give me a hand installing the fan in the roof of the van - a bit intimidating!
